On a recent H2OpenDoors Expedition to Kenya and Tanzania, the inventor of the SunSpring was honored with a Paul Harris Fellowship. 18 participants, half Rotarians from D5150, gathered for a celebration dinner on Lamu Island with several members of Safari Doctors. Jon Kaufman presented Jack Barker with the PHF lapel pin and certificate signed by the RI President.
“Jack Barker is a great supporter of Rotary by providing excellence in service and technology,” Jon said in his presentation. “Soulful entrepreneurs and community leaders have been recognized in this way for over a century, recognizing Rotary’s work for Service Above Self”.
Jack has accompanied H2OpenDoors on 15 of their 23 installation trips to 9 countries in the past 5 years. The patented, solar-powered SunSprings are in over 400 locations, each providing capacity of 2 liters of daily safe water for up to 10,000 people.
