Know Where We're Going

You would no more guide any of your endeavors without a plan then you would travel to a distant city without a map of some sort. No organization can hope to succeed by not having a plan and simply hoping to stumble across success.

Rotary District 5150's strategic planning process aims to clearly define the best route for our organization to take in the years ahead. Our plan will be a living document, continually informed by new data and our local experience.

Goals outlined in the plan are divided into four themes, which match Rotary International's Strategic Action Plan
  • Increase our impact.
  • Expand our reach.
  • Enhance participant engagement.
  • Increase our ability to adapt.

CURRENT STATUS

In March 2023, District 5150 unveiled the 2023-2028 Strategic Priorities.  These priorities were the outcome of seven volunteer committees that were charged with creating goals for the District to consider pursuing.

During April - July 2023, the Governor Line and District Leadership Team will formulate an action plan to chart a path toward achieving some of these ambitious goals.

Once the action plan is created, District 5150 will be working toward achieving strategic plan goals during the 2023-24 Rotary year.  Check-ins and report-outs will happen throughout the year to measure progress and refine plans in preparation for continued work in the 2024-25 Rotary year (and so on).

HOW DID WE GET HERE?

In Fall 2022, Rotary District 5150 launched a strategic planning process to clearly define the best route for our organization to take in the years ahead.  We cast a wide net to obtain volunteers who were interested in providing input on goals we hope to achieve through the implementation of the strategic plan.  Volunteers were organized into the following committees for this process:
  • Membership
  • Foundation
  • Public Image
  • Service Projects (local and global)
  • Youth
  • Club Service
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

WHAT IS A STRATEGIC PLAN?

A strategic plan helps leaders define their vision for the future and identify their organization's goals and objectives.  For Rotary District 5150, a strategic plan is an aspirational roadmap guiding where our District can grow and how we'll achieve our goals.  Its a living document with Rotarian input so all of our clubs can benefit.
