The Rotary Foundation (TRF transforms your gifts into projects that change lives both close to home and around the world. As the charitable arm of Rotary, we tap into a global network of Rotarians who invest their time, money, and expertise into our priorities, such as eradicating polio and promoting peace. Foundation grants empower Rotarians to approach challenges such as poverty, illiteracy, and malnutrition with sustainable solutions that leave a lasting impact.
The District 5150 Rotary Foundation Training was held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Bay Model in Sausalito. Over 60 Rotarians were there representing 31 clubs, including Club Foundation Chairs and committee members, Presidents and Presidents-Elect. Members of the District Foundation team were introduced. The newly appointed Area Foundation Coordinators (AFCs) were able to meet with and work with their Club counterparts.
Presentations included an overview of the 2 parts of TRF (Fundraising and Programs) with a focus on Fundraising, reports available and how to use them, the many resources available to Clubs through the Zone 25/26 Resource Guide (hyperlink), information on our EREY program, an update on Polio and TRF Centennial and ways to celebrate. Interest was generated for our District celebration – a river cruise down the beautiful Danube in March 2017. Those present reported this to be a most useful and engaging morning and left inspired and motived to support TRF – Our Rotary Foundation.
