Prepare for a successful term.

Welcome, Assistant Governors! You have one of the best roles in Rotary. As AGs, you lead and motivate your club, ensuring that members feel valuable, inspired, and connected to each other.

As AG-elect, you have the opportunity to build your plan, meet and network with a wide variety of people to help you prepare for your leadership term. It will be a time of preparation, leadership growth, and FUN!

This webpage is your online binder or "one stop" for resources to assist you with your preparation.

How to Prepare

The year of planning before you take office is crucial to achieving the objectives you set out for your club. As president-elect, you work with your assistant governor and incoming leadership team to set annual goals that support your club’s strategic plan.

In this year you should:
  • Take online courses for club president in the Learning Center
  • Assess your club’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and risks in order to set goals
  • Develop an action plan for your annual goals, which support long-term achievements
  • Appoint committee chairs
  • Ensure continuity in leadership and service projects
  • Attend presidents-elect training seminar
  • Attend district training assembly
Not sure where to start? Use the President-Elect Planning Calendar [PDF] to guide your journey.

Grant Qualification Process

Did you know there are grant funds available to do service projects during the 2026-2027 Rotary year (your term as Club President)? District Designated Funds (DDF) provide funding for District Grants and Global Grants. Each Club is allocated DDF annually by District 5150 based on the Club’s prior 3 years of donations to The Rotary Foundation’s (TRF) Annual Fund.

This is FREE money available to clubs that complete the grant qualification process. As President-Elect, you are responsible for helping your club qualify for the grant application process.
