Dear 5150 Rotarians,

November is Rotary Foundation Month.  The Rotary Foundation (TRF) transforms your gifts into projects that change lives both close to home and around the world. As the charitable arm of Rotary International, we tap into a global network of Rotarians who invest their time, money, and expertise into our priorities, such as eradicating polio and promoting peace. Foundation grants empower Rotarians to approach challenges such as poverty, illiteracy, and malnutrition with sustainable solutions that leave a lasting impact.

Strong financial oversight, a stellar charity rating, and a unique funding model mean that we make the very most of your contribution. We are right in the midst of our Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) campaign, where we would like each of you to give what you can to support the Annual Fund-SHARE component of The Rotary Foundation. Almost half of what your club donates three years ago comes back to your club in the form of District Designated Funds (DDF), which your club can use for local projects in your community or projects internationally.

Every donation increment of $25 to the Annual Fund-SHARE that you give within the 2022-2023 Rotary year will give you a ticket to our District’s EREY Drawing, where you will have chances to win one of 20 Visa gift cards on November 19, 2022.  Give and become a part of Rotary’s life-changing work, then notify your Club TRF Chair of your donation (total amount planned to be given to the TRF Annual Fund- SHARE during this Rotary Year) before November 10 and they will enter your tickets into the drawing.

AREAS OF FOCUS

We direct our efforts in seven areas to enhance our local and global impact. Our most successful and sustainable projects and activities tend to fall within the following areas:
  • Promoting peace
  • Fighting disease
  • Providing clean water
  • Saving mothers and children
  • Supporting education
  • Growing local economies
  • Protecting the Environment
DDF PROJECT SHOWCASE

To celebrate our District’s support of The Rotary Foundation(TRF), improve awareness and expand our reach with the many humanitarian projects clubs have/will accomplished through the use of District and Global Grants funded through donations to the TRF Annual Fund SHARE program, we invite you to attend our annual Rotary Foundation Event- The DDF Project Showcase on Saturday, November 19 at the Jonas Community Center in Novato.  You will interact with other clubs and learn about their projects.  Perhaps you might like to participate with their project, or maybe encourage other clubs to join yours!  To register, please click on this link: DDF Project Showcase Registration Link.

Until next month, please have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.  I am thankful that you are being the change you wish to see in your communities!

Yours in Rotary,
Gary Chow
