Congratulations to Elizabeth "Betsy" Chafcouloff of the Rotary Club of San Francisco Castro for being selected as Rotary District 5150’s Rotarian of the Month for April 2025!

A Charter Member and Past President of the Rotary Club of San Francisco Castro, Betsy has exemplified Rotary’s mission through her dedication to service, leadership, and humanitarian work. A licensed Speech-Language Pathologist since 2008, she has made a profound impact through her volunteer efforts in Cambodia since 2013.

 

Betsy’s commitment to international service is demonstrated through her leadership in the Rotary Club of San Francisco Castro’s global grant for Adult Dysphagia Management Training. This vital program provides assistance to adults experiencing swallowing difficulties due to strokes, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Parkinson’s disease, and other medical conditions. Her work has significantly improved the quality of life for individuals in Cambodia, ensuring access to critical care and sustainable training for local healthcare professionals.

By training local practitioners in dysphagia management, Betsy has helped create a lasting impact, equipping healthcare providers with the knowledge and skills needed to continue supporting their communities. This hands-on approach aligns with Rotary International’s mission of fostering humanitarian service, promoting high ethical standards, and advancing goodwill and peace worldwide.

Betsy’s unwavering dedication and global service embody the spirit of Rotary. Her leadership in addressing health disparities and empowering communities serves as an inspiring example of how individual action can lead to meaningful change.
