Congratulations to Howard Weathersby of the Rotary Club of San Francisco Bayview for being selected as Rotary District 5150's Rotarian of the Month for July 2023! Howard has been a Rotarian since 2010 and served in various capacities, including two terms as Club President of the San Francisco Bayview Club. It has been exciting to watch his emergence from Club member to Rotary leader.
Howard is generous with his care for others and his money. In our Club, he has gone out of his way to be in touch with each member individually to get them involved. Howard has supported the fundraising events of other Rotary clubs by buying tickets and gifting them to new members of our Club for purposes of networking and relationship building.
Howard collaborates, because teamwork produces great results. He has worked with the Lions Club to refurbish bicycles for veterans. Around Thanksgiving time, he has joined forces with the Rotary Club of San Francisco West and the Rotary Club of San Francisco Evening to provide dinners to families in need.
Howard sees the importance of educating the next generation. He helped to create the annual "Rotarian Ben Robinson Scholarship Breakfast" where scholarships are awarded to college-bound students from the Bayview–Hunters Point districts in San Francisco. He collaborates with community partners such as the 100% College Prep school and the police department to identify students who will benefit from a Rotary scholarship and give them a chance to change not only their future but the future of the community.Howard has grown as a Rotarian. He has evolved beyond the Club level and gone on to support The Rotary Foundation, District 5150 events, and international projects. In Rotary District 5150, Howard has served on the Membership Committee and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
Howard is enthusiastic when practicing Service Above Self and has earned special recognition for his service to our Club, our Community, and Rotary International. We at the Rotary Club of San Francisco Bayview are honored to have Howard as our valued member.
