Congratulations to Rotary District 5150 Rotarian of the Month for October 2021, Bob Hermann from the Rotary Club of San Francisco!
Since joining the San Francisco club less than 4 years ago, he has contributed hundreds of volunteer hours towards service projects. Bob is the first to raise his hand when a call for volunteers is needed whether it be with a community service project, international project, club services project, or as the welcome registration person at his club's live in-person meetings.
Bob served on his club's Membership Committee for several years and currently serves on its Board of Directors as Vice President of Community Service overseeing fifteen (15) local service projects including:
• Project lead for the First Five Rotary Club’s service project to distribute 4,500 hygiene kits and masks to the homeless.
• Project co-lead for San Francisco's signature club event: Emergency Services Day to honor firefighters, police, Sheriff, Coast Guard, and Healthcare providers.
• Assembling diaper bags for the Homeless Prenatal Program
• Delivering meals to The Arc San Francisco clients with developmental disabilities
• Packing food at the SF-Marin Food Bank
• Distributing personal safety alarms to AAPI seniors
• Beautifying Sutro Meadows
• Assembling PPE equipment and distribution to medical facilities
• Creating medical record systems for free medical clinics at RotaCare

Bob was project co-lead for SF2's annual Bike Build in June 2021 in which he coordinated with the SF Police Department, Together SF, schools in the Bayview, and over 60 volunteers to build, distribute, and teach 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders how to ride a bicycle. He was awarded the Certificate of Honor by the City and County of San Francisco Board of Supervisors in recognition of his dedication and volunteer work.
Bob utilizes his vocational background as a healthcare program manager in electronic medical record technology to document and streamline each of his club's projects so it will be sustainable for future project leads.
He is a Major Donor to The Rotary Foundation, a member of the Paul Harris Society, RI Bequest Society, and the RI White Hat Society.
Bob’s mantra is to “help humanity in making a difference in their lives, even amongst the turbulence in our world."
Once again, congratulations to Bob Hermann from the Rotary Club of San Francisco as our “Rotarian of the Month” for October 2021!
