The San Francisco Rotary Clubs Select Rose Chew of the Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown as District 5150’s January Rotarian of the Month!

Rose, a Charter member, has worked diligently as our Club Treasurer since it’s inception in 2008. Year after year she has been an incredible steward of our funds and has been fastidious in her duties. Her unwavering work laid the foundation for much of the success of our club today as she is the groundskeeper and den mother when it comes to our club finances.

Throughout each year, Rose reassured each incoming President and board member that she is available to serve as a behind the scenes mentor and her gentle handholding provided invaluable counseling to every one of us.

Much of the club’s success we attribute to Rose Chew. Her detailing skills set forth in her success in mortgage lending has carried through into how our club smoothly functions. Her loyalty to our club and to Rotary is displayed whether it be a small task or huge planning session when gearing up for a fundraising gala event.

She has attained her PHF during the first year of the club’s existence and has sponsored many of our current members who are all currently Paul Harris Fellows.

She has been held in the highest esteem throughout the district yet is so humble and generally likes to stay out of the spotlight. Rose steps up to the plate and will assist in her gentle manner and volunteer to reconcile any issue that arises. “Service Above Self” is set forth in everything she does. Making others feel welcome is her utmost priority and specialty.
