July 2018 Rotarian of the Month:
Suzanne Varacalli from Rotary Club of Fisherman’s Wharf

Suzanne is Past President, current Secretary and International Service Chair of the Rotary Club of Fisherman’s Wharf.  She has been a Rotarian since May, 2009 and exemplifies the Rotary spirit of service.
While serving as Rotary Club of Fisherman’s Wharf Club President in 2016-2017 and learning that the incoming president had withdrawn from the club, Suzanne again chaired our club’s Annual Fundraiser (typically chaired by the President-elect), which was a resounding success.  During her term, she also used her creativity and party planning talents for a special dinner – Pasta for Polio – to promote giving to Rotary’s polio eradication efforts.  It was an inspiring and very successful event.

She stepped up to coordinate the next Club year (2017-2018) when a series of past club presidents took turns serving as President.  Not only did Suzanne serve again as Club President herself for several months, but she also guided others ensuring that the meetings ran smoothly.  She also continued as Secretary of the Club. Her dedication, organization skills and ability to encourage and inspire others helped make this a very successful and enjoyable year for our club.
For the current 2018-2019 year Suzanne continues to serve on our club’s Board of Directors, as Secretary of the Club and, new for this year, as International Service Chair.

With a smile and enthusiasm Suzanne participates in club meetings and community service projects and always makes everyone feel welcome.  She is key to the camaraderie of the Fisherman’s Wharf Club.  She is an incredible role model for everyone in the club.

We enthusiastically congratulate her as District 5150 Rotarian of the Month!
