September 2018 Rotarian of the Month:
Jackie Bonner of the Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise

Jackie Bonner, the 2017-18 Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise SOAR (Spirit of A Rotarian) Award winner, is a former District Assistant Governor, a Charter member and Past President of the club.
Jackie served several years as the International Committee Chair, started several club projects and helped established our major fundraisers with the current one being the Oktoberfest of which she serves as the Auction chair for the past years. Jackie enthusiastically welcomed and mentored club members as well as opening her home for club meetings and get-togethers.

Other than the many club activities she volunteers for, Jackie is a great supporter of the Rotary International and the Rotary Foundation. She attended many district and international conventions, including the International Project Fair which is her passion. Under her leadership, the club supported projects such as Shelter Box, Women’s Leadership Conference in Togo, Africa, Health and Sanitary Project in Bali, Indonesia. Jackie participated in several International Projects, including an original water project, planting trees in Ecuador and recently attended H2Open Door project.

Jackie has worked diligently for the past year to start the Ecuador Microcredit Project with the Los Chillos Milenio Rotary Club. She contacted numerous clubs and attended many events to get support from other clubs to help fund the project. The project was approved last year and we have just received the Global Grant to formally start the project. This is the first project where the Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise is the Lead for an International Project. We look forward to the great success of the project under Jackie’s leadership.

We enthusiastically congratulate her as District 5150 Rotarian of the Month!
