Congratulations to Rotary District 5150 Rotarian of the Month for July 2022, Michael Petricca, from the Rotary Club of San Francisco!
Since joining the Rotary in 2017, Michael has served on the club’s board and contributed hundreds of volunteer hours towards our club services and District 5150 events.
“When you hear the Rotary saying, People of Action, Michael Petricca comes to mind,” said Immediate Past Club President, Mary Liu. “He is a person of action, and he gets things done!”
Michael works as head Security at the Academy of Art University. With his connections to the University, he is a man well connected. And with those connections, he supports the Rotary Club of San Francisco’s events and our District events.
Michael was instrumental in introducing AV Tech volunteers to San Francisco club members to help with set up and break down of AV equipment each week for meetings. The AV Tech volunteers also make sure hybrid meetings run smoothly. Michael also helps with securing free venue space for our Rotary activities such as the club’s Blue Angels Viewing Party and getting sponsors to donate food and beverages for events. Michael was also instrumental with securing donated space for the District Youth Leadership Conferences and the 2022 District conference.
Securing free venue space has saved Rotary thousands of dollars. Not only does Michael secure the venue, but he also helps secure volunteer AV technicians to help on site for each of these events for free.
Michael also connected the San Francisco club with Rodney Fong, President of the SF Chamber of Commerce in which we are now collaborating efforts for vocational networking opportunities for the club and for our district.
